For us, slow travel is less about how many days you spend somewhere and more about how you experience it.

We don’t believe the answer to overtourism is simply to stop travelling. We believe it is important to travel differently.
A large part of the pressure is concentrated in a relatively small number of famous destinations, while many towns and rural communities elsewhere in Japan are facing the opposite problem: declining populations, disappearing businesses, and traditions with fewer people to carry them forward.
Inner Japan encourages travelers to spread their journeys more widely, stay longer, support local businesses, and treat smaller communities with respect. Our goal is not to turn quiet places into the next overcrowded destination, but to help tourism bring value to the places people visit.
For us, responsible tourism means finding a balance — protecting what makes a place special while allowing local communities to benefit from thoughtful visitors.
